About me

Welcome! I’m Ria.

I have nearly 15 years of experience working in veterinary hospitals and close to 18 years of petsitting experience.

I started my petsitting journey in 2004 while working in an animal hospital in Lakeville, MN. During that time, I recognized the need for clients to have their pets cared for by a trusted individual in the comfort of their own homes while they were away.

In 2008, I moved back to Southwest Wisconsin, where I grew up, and decided to continue petsitting here. I love to give my clients the peace of mind to travel without worrying about their beloved family members. It’s important to me to provide the level of care that I want for my own fur family.

The Great “Rex”pectations name came about after I adopted my first Cornish Rex, Zackary, from a shelter in Michigan. I fell in love with the Cornish Rex breed and now have three of them; Ted, Harlowe, and Gideon. Zackary passed away in 2017 at the age of 16, after being dearly loved and spoiled every day of his post-adoption life.

After taking my Doberman, Ridley, through a Mayhem to Manners obedience program, I now add the ability to reinforce training with Mayhem to Manners client’s dogs to my skill set.

Three of my pets are pictured with me above: Gideon, one of the three Cornish Rex cats; Patrick, a Doberman/Cattle Dog mix; and Ridley, the Doberman.

In honor of Zackary, some photos are included below.
